THE PRODUCT MASTERCAST 1-2-1
That's it.
MASTERCAST 1-2-1 is an ASTM certified two-component resin for easy and safe application. Create stunning and glossy works of art with MASTERCAST 1-2-1.
It can.
MASTERCAST 1-2-1 becomes a hard and glassy varnish when its two individual components are mixed. It also offers the best possible protection against yellowing. This is ensured by so-called UV stabilizers: Our products contain a UV absorber and HALS (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer)
That's what it's for.
MASTERCAST 1-2-1 has a medium viscosity, so it is a slightly thicker resin. It is therefore ideal for fluid painting. Add coloring or any other additive to create extraordinary effects and cell structures.
Create individual optical effects, for example by working with a heat gun. This works great on canvas, wood, glass, metal, furniture, mosaics, encaustic paintings, drawings, paintings, photos, paper collages, prints and more.
Particularities.
Due to its thicker consistency, MASTERCAST 1-2-1 is also particularly suitable for beginners. This resin does not flow away when you work and you can approach the medium that is new to you.
Measure, mix and apply MASTERCAST 1-2-1
1.) Resin and hardener of MASTERCAST 1-2-1 are mixed by volume 1:1. Place the two components in a suitable mixing cup.
2.) Stir the measured amount in the mixing cup. Use a plastic spatula for this. Stir slowly and thoroughly for 3-5 minutes; also on the bottom and edges of the mixing cup.
3.) Your mix is ??ready and you now have 25-30 minutes to process the resin. After that it becomes too thick and begins to harden.
4.) You have prepared your painting surface beforehand, which means: it has been dusted off, degreased and is lying flat on your work surface. Now pour the synthetic resin mixture onto the painting surface. Resin is self-leveling and will spread itself over a smooth, flat surface. but you are welcome to help with a spatula.
5.) MASTERCAST 1-2-1 is a high quality product that produces little, if any, bubbles. If bubbles appear, simply remove them with the heat of a Bunsen burner or a heat gun. To do this, move about 10 cm away from the resin surface in swinging movements.
6.) Protect your work from dust or other foreign objects by working in an environment that is as dust-free as possible. Cover it when it's done.
7.) The best way to clean the hardened surface is with a damp Cloth.
You should pay attention to this:
Although our resins are formulated with the most advanced and safest epoxy chemistry available, you should handle all epoxy resins responsibly and be proactive about your safety:
• Always wear nitrile gloves.
• When sanding cured resin, wear a dust mask, and better yet, wear safety goggles.
• It is advisable to work in a well-ventilated area and to wear a Respirator.
• Avoid skin contact (if resin gets on skin, wash with plenty of soap and water).
• DO NOT eat, drink or smoke while working.
• If eyes get dirty, wash with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately.
• Adding inks/varnishes/mica powder/glitter to epoxy changes its properties and may reduce its non-toxicity. If you are using alcohol ink, DO NOT use a flame to remove bubbles as alcohol is flammable.
